Supportive Housing

Housing is the most important basic need each of our clients must have to gain stability.

Community Supportive Housing Services is a combination of housing and case management services intended to help support individuals and families coming from homelessness. Supportive housing is a “best practices” national model proven to transition individuals from homelessness to stable and affordable housing with wrap-around supports. Chrysalis Center has provided supportive housing services for over twenty years.

Tenants in the program: 

  • Find, obtain and maintain permanent affordable housing
  • Complete applications to get a housing subsidy
  • Understand an apartment lease and how to be a good tenant
  • Have help acquiring home necessities and furnishings
  • Have access to job training and education
  • Gain meaningful employment
  • Learn to manage physical and mental healthcare
  • Learn daily living skills, such as housekeeping, shopping on a budget, using public transportation and managing finances
  • Complete applications for government assistance
  • Connect to community resources, such as houses of worship and support groups
