Stories – Cosgrove Commons Breaks Ground!

Chrysalis Center Breaks Ground for Cosgrove Commons, New Supportive Housing for Veterans.

One October 15th, Chrysalis Center held a Groundbreaking Ceremony for a new 24 unit supportive housing project for homeless Veterans on Wethersfield Avenue in Hartford.

The project is new construction of 24 one bedroom apartments and Chrysalis Center is the developer, owner and services provider for the project.  Construction is underway with expected completion in June of 2014.

The Cosgrove Commons project was fully funded through a competitive grant from the Connecticut Housing and Finance Authority.  The $4.5 million project received funding for land acquisition (3 acres), construction, housing subsidies and case management.

The name Cosgrove Commons was in honor of Fran Cosgrove, who sold Chrysalis Center the property that we for many years wanted to develop for housing Veterans.
